The summer box office is booming — “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” shattered records with a $360 million opening weekend — and Plymouth’s Emagine Willow Creek is riding the wave. Director of creative Tim Holly says the theater has been selling out show after show, part of a surprisingly strong year for cinema driven by crowd-pleasers like “Super Mario Galaxy,” “Toy Story 5” and “Project Hail Mary.”

Plymouth Woman Crowned National Miss Amazing Queen
Elizabeth Neuville of Plymouth was crowned National Miss Amazing Queen at the national competition in Chicago in late July — capping a year that also included a silver medal at the Special Olympics USA Games. “Now, I’m officially called Queen Elizabeth,” she said, and her biggest goal for the year ahead is expanding Miss Amazing’s reach across Minnesota.

One Week Later: Plymouth Looks Back on ’Unprecedented’ Cyberattack
A week after the cyberattack that knocked 14 wastewater lift stations and water-tower monitoring offline in the early hours of July 27, Plymouth Public Works Director Michael Thompson says water quality and quantity were never compromised. The city air-gapped its systems and ran manual operations until communications were restored; the incident affected dozens of Minnesota communities and remains under federal investigation.

Communications restored at Plymouth water facilities
The City of Plymouth announced that crews reestablished communications connections to all impacted water infrastructure on Tuesday, July 28, with the system back to normal operations and under continued monitoring. Throughout the outage, Public Works crews kept the system running manually, and Plymouth experienced no impact to water levels or quality.
